  1. Hello, my favorite place is the Florida Keys and the Outerbanks of NC. At least for now. The keys is such a laid back place and so beautiful it is hard to beat. Of course you had better enjoy water sports because there is lots of fishing, boating, snorkeling, swimming etc.. I think Key West is a bit overrated at this time. It used to be nice and quaint, but seems to have become a tourist attraction more than anything else anymore. My favorite key is Big Pine. It has everything, including Key Deer. Those little buggers really like potato chips. I know, I know you are not supposed to feed them. Actually they fed themselves by stealing my bag of chips and running off with it. Cant trust even the animals anymore.

The Outer Banks is really neat in that they have kept the building sizes not too high. The restrictions keep the low profile and old style look of the area. There is so much to see and do there. Like the Wright Brothers National Memorial and the Hatteras Lighthouse, then of course there are the sand dunes, kite flying and more.
I could go on, but enough for now. Oh yeah, the local seafood is fantastic.
    Bye for now,
    Allen

  2. We love to travel the Southwest Florida area in which we live. Sanibel Island, Fort Myers Beach and Boca Grande are the destinations we enjoy by day and over night. Sanibel has pristine nature and shelling beaches, quaint shops and eclectic dining, 30 miles of bike paths and the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Fort Myers Beach has an Atlantic style fishing pier, beach shops and night life like Bay Walk at Times Square and Doc Ford’s at Fisherman’s Wharf. Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island is historic and quiet with golf cart trails, unspoiled fishing grounds, a lighthouse and national park that is a beach.

    • Hi Kathy,
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Southwest Florida area. I have to agree with you the Sanibel Beach was the most beautiful beach I’ve visited. My husband and I were there on our honeymoon and were shocked at the quality of sand and shelling.
Deep Sea Fishing is one of our favorite sports! We went out with Captain Larry Iacofano on the charter vessel, “Workin’ On It” in the Fort Myers area. Talk about a trip we’ll never forget!! Captain Larry and his wife were so welcoming and we not only caught a ton of fish but we had an amazing experience. That is when we knew our Captain was one of the best. http://www.fortmyersoffshorefishing.com

Again thanks for sharing and please check back for our photo contest details coming soon.
